Process fragments can be used for runtime adaptation of compositions instances.
Thereby, fragments of the original (running) composition are
substituted for seperately modeled process fragments (which have e.g.
different QoS characteristics). [Leitner
et al., 2010) |
A process fragment is a connected sub graph of a
control/data flow graph of the process model. It can also contain additional
artefacts, such as variables, references to related process-partners,
annotations etc. Some parts of a fragment may be explicitly stated as
opaque, in order to mark points of variability and degree of freedom
for reuse. Process fragment is not necessarily directly executable.
[COMPAS] __ALT__ A process fragment is a fragmentary ’local’ building block, representing incomplete ’local’ knowledge, which can be composed with other fragments to build a complete and correct process model. [Eberle & Unger & Leymann, 2009] {SYN: Composition Fragment} |
