[S-Cube] Successful ServiceWave Conference in Madrid

The first ServiceWave conference was held in Madrid on 10th to 13th of December 2008. ServiceWave 2008  was jointly organised by the European Technology Platform (ETP) NESSI together with the ETPs eMobility, EPoSS, ISI and NEM, Spanish Technology Platform INES, European Funded Networks of Excellence CoreGRID and S-Cube and European Funded Supporting Actions EIFFEL, NESSI-2010 and 4NEM. The conference was a great success and it has attracted more than 250 participants from different research areas such as grid computing, service-oriented computing, software engineering and business process management. Three industrial panels, an ETP track, ten research sessions and four keynotes stimulated many discussions, especially between academia and industry. In addition, during the seven workshops which were organised on Saturday, 13th of December early and innovative research ideas have been discussed in more detail.

Overall, the scientific track of ServiceWave has attracted 102 papers. From the 28 accepted papers, 10 have been co-authored by S-Cube members. In addition, S-Cube members have organised the workshop on “Monitoring, Adaptation and Beyond (MONA+)”, which featured five paper presentations and an invited talk.
