In this context, resources can be physical entities
(e.g. servers, disks, software licenses) or dynamic entities such as
processes or virtual organizations. The availability of
resources may be limited in time and quantity, therefore their use
needs scheduling [CD-JRA-2.3.4]. |
||||
Generic (domain independent) |
The process of reserving resources for future use by a planned task. This term is strictly connected to "Resource leveling", which is a project management technique used to examine unbalanced use of resources (usually people or equipment) over time, and for resolving over-allocations or conflicts [PMBOK, 2004]. |
