It is the degree to which data values satisfy acceptance requirements of the validation criteria or fall within the respective domain of acceptable values. Validity criteria are often based on ”expert opinion” and are generally viewed as ”rules of thumb” although some validity criteria may be based on established theory or scientific fact.
