Business Process Management
(KM-BPM)
The Common Feature influences the Engineering and Design of Business Processes in terms of the 'Commitment to Perform' that describes the actions the organisation needs to take to ensure that the process is established and will endure.  Commitments to perform typically involve establishing organisational policies and the provision of leadership. The Common Feature influences the Adaptation and Monitoring of Business Processes in terms of 'Measurement and Analysis' that outlines the basic measurement practices that are necessary to determine status related to the process.  These measurements are used to control and improve the process.  It typically includes examples of the types of measurements that can be employed. The Common Feature influences the Quality Definition, Negotation and Assurance in terms of Business Processes 'Verifying Implementation' that describes the steps to ensure that the activities are performed in compliance with the process that has been established.  This typically encompasses reviews and audits by the management and software quality assurance personnel. The term common feature is used to describe the attributes that indicate if the implementation and institutionalisation of a key process area is effective, repeatable and will last.
Service Composition and Coordination
