by Maike Uhlig last modified Apr 07, 2011 15:39

Objectives

The principal long-term objectives of this workpackage are:

  1. Defining novel principles and techniques for cross-layer monitoring of service-based systems.
  2. Defining principles and techniques for context-aware and user-driven monitoring, where the monitoring mechanism are able to exploit contextual information and information about the user to guide monitoring activities.
  3. Defining novel principles, techniques and methodologies for adapting service-based systems. This includes self-adaptation and human-in-the-loop adaptation.

  4. Devising prediction models and techniques to anticipate the need for changes at different layers and thereby enabling the proactive adaptation of a service-based system.

To achieve these long-term objectives, the two short-term objectives are followed:

  1. Defining a comprehensive analysis of the state of the art in adaptation and monitoring in order to identify the gaps for cross-layer, integrated monitoring .
  2. Defining a comprehensive analysis of requirements for cross-layer monitoring.

Coordination

This workpackage (JRA-WP-1.2) is coordinated by Fondazione Bruno Kessler / Center for Scientific and Technological Research.
