Adaptation and Monitoring Principles, Techniques and Methodologies for Service based Applications (WP-JRA-1.2)
Objectives
The principal long-term objectives of this workpackage are:
- Defining novel principles and techniques for cross-layer monitoring of service-based systems.
- Defining principles and techniques for context-aware and user-driven monitoring, where the monitoring mechanism are able to exploit contextual information and information about the user to guide monitoring activities.
-
Defining novel principles, techniques and methodologies for adapting service-based systems. This includes self-adaptation and human-in-the-loop adaptation.
- Devising prediction models and techniques to anticipate the need for changes at different layers and thereby enabling the proactive adaptation of a service-based system.
To achieve these long-term objectives, the two short-term objectives are followed:
- Defining a comprehensive analysis of the state of the art in adaptation and monitoring in order to identify the gaps for cross-layer, integrated monitoring .
- Defining a comprehensive analysis of requirements for cross-layer monitoring.
